Murrumbidgee IVT : Delivery Commences

Delivery of IVT Commences

WaterNSW is advising customers that delivery of water from the Murrumbidgee Inter Valley Trade
(IVT) account has now commenced at Balranald.
The Murray-Darling Basin Authority (MDBA) has requested that WaterNSW deliver a volume of up to
20 GL by 15 November. The Murrumbidgee IVT account has a current balance of 103.3 GL.
WaterNSW is targeting a daily clearance rate of about 350 ML/day in October, and about 850
ML/day during November. The IVT is a volume delivered in excess of the end of system flow
requirement, October – 1.030 ML/day; November – 568 ML/day; meaning the flow at Balranald will
be around 1,400 ML/day while IVT delivery is occurring.
The IVT account will be adjusted based on the accumulated daily delivery volume, and the
account updated at 9 am each day as per the standard procedure. Allocation assignment
(temporary trade) out of the Murrumbidgee valley would reopen once the account reaches 85 GL.
The process for how the account is managed, including triggers for open and close of trade, can
be found at WaterNSW website.
MDBA may call additional water for delivery through to the end of November but are likely to focus
the call of water to the peak summer demand period. WaterNSW will provide advice to customers
regarding additional call on IVT water delivery when requests are made by MDBA.
