Have your say on what info about water ownership & trading is made public in NSW

From the NSW DPIE Website:

Transparency in the water market provides certainty and confidence to water users that markets are operating effectively in accordance with water sharing rules.

In 2018, we sought community feedback on water trading transparency. Since then, we have developed water market information platforms including the WaterInsights Portal to help improve access to water market information.

The Australian Competition and Consumer Commission (ACCC) is currently reviewing markets for tradeable water rights across the Murray-Darling Basin and exploring options to improve the operation, transparency, regulation, competitiveness and efficiency of those markets. We are working closely with the ACCC and other Basin jurisdictions as part of this review.

How to have your say

We are now seeking feedback on our water market information platforms to understand what information we should be sharing and how we can make our platforms easier to use.

The public consultation period is from Monday, 30 November 2020 to Monday, 1 February 2021. Review the discussion paper (PDF 481.7 KB) and find out what we heard (PDF 674.7 KB) from the community in 2018.

To provide feedback, complete our online survey or submit your written feedback to water.relations@dpie.nsw.gov.au by 5pm on Monday, 1 February 2021.
